  • About the origin of the product

    Patricia Barros

Pernambucana, Brazilian artisan and daughter of artisans, has been dedicated since 1981 to the production of decorative pieces in ceramics, wood, leather and natural fibers.

With the lightness of his hands, he made room for the appreciation of the forms of local nature, culture, architecture of churches and mansions, bringing the exaltation of his creativity through the reinterpretation of various themes.

Producing rustic pieces, but always with a daring design, her unique work enchants and fills the environments with style and harmony. In the artist's words, 'my inspirations come from nature, from its shapes and color variation'.

But it was only in 1996, together with his father, that, as self-taught, they began to develop the art of working with metal.

Years later, now married, she gave growth and encouragement to family art. 'I grew up in the midst of art, drawings and paintings. my parents are artisans and there was always encouragement.'

For the production of her pieces, Patrícia makes several drawings on paper, with different shapes and possible color combinations, and develops measures so that each part comes out in the desired shape. Several molds are made until it is perfect, and only then is the carbon steel sheet cut with scissors and shaped with hammers and pliers.

Each fold and cut is made uniquely supported by Patricia's legs, with a support bar made on a broken sewing machine wheel. The assembly of the part is done with simple and manual soldering.

Then, the protection process begins, which lasts around 48 hours. And then, the resin texture is applied with family technique and acrylic painting.

After drying, two coats of varnish are applied to guarantee a last protection to the piece.

The entire process takes about 10 days to complete, and at the end, each piece carries a lot of history and meaning in every detail.
