The Chaise Negev by design Leon Ades was inspired by the desert region of southern Israel. Its main city is Be'er Sheva. There, the Old City is home to the Museum of Negev Art, with contemporary Israeli and international exhibitions. Nearby is Abraham's Well, a cultural center with interactive exhibits about the story of Abraham. East of the city, Tel Be'er Sheva is a prehistoric settlement with ruins as well as an observation tower.

One of the area's most unique features are the large makhteshim, or erosion craters surrounded by high cliffs. The largest is Makhtesh Ramon, near the town of Mitzpe Ramon. The Negev is also full of history. It's a great place to find traces of prehistoric and historic settlements and inspire artists with their curves and colors.

This Negev chaise explores the use of curves through the wood lamination technique, making it possible to achieve large curves with little wood thickness, resulting in a light and organic design on the seat, in contrast to its robust base.
